Recently a woman came up to a family member's door claiming that she was a "neighbor" who needed to "borrow" $30 for her child's inhaler. My kind-hearted family member did give her the money and as you can imagine she never came back to return it as she claimed. I'm pretty upset that someone would prey on people's kindness like this (it seems especially cruel considering that my family member is unemployed and has really struggled to find work).
Apparently it's fairly common for scammers to try going up to people's doors with sob stories like this to scam people (Miami Herald article about similar incidents (http://www.miamiherald.com/2010/08/13/1774033/beware-of-that-neighbor-who-isnt.html - broken link))
This happened in Tosa. Since I imagine this scammer will continue to hit people in the Milwaukee area, be careful and if someone you don't recognize approaches your door with such a request, call the cops!

Welcome to WisCon Sin ladyblue, I came back after 5 years in purgatory.

Oh jeez. I won't even give my neighbor a cup-o-sugar! you gotta be kidding! I will stop to help a motorist though.

How can people be so gullible and eager to help?
Don't you folks in Tosa have any public health clinics?
