I will ride the metra train up from Chicago to Milwaukee and visit for a day or two . What should I see while I am there.

The Metra only goes to Kenosha, I am assuming you mean you are taking Amtrak? The Amtrak station downtown isn't the greatest location from a walking standpoint but isn't too bad. The Amtrak station is on 5th and St Paul. Walk east on St Paul Ave about 7-8 blocks and you'll be at Water Street in the third ward. The 3rd Ward has some interesting shops and such. The riverwalk is nice in both directions from here. The Calatrava would be a must visit for anyone looking for a free cultural thing, but that would be good sized walk from the Amtrak station. If you are staying more than one day where are you staying?
