Asians: How do you view Milwaukee?
Living in an area that has a huge asian population, I'm curious about the asian perspective on this traditionally blue-collar city. What are your perceptions and insights about Milwaukee, Marquette, UWM, the suburbs, the job market and job opportunities, and racial tensions in this city? What is wrong with the city? What is right?

You need to be a bit more specific of your angle and what you are seeking and I'd let ya know.

I have no "angle" and I thought I was pretty clear. Share your thoughts on this city.

South Asian?, East Asian?, Southeast Asian?
I am not Asian, so I don't have an Asian perspective on Milwaukee. I do however have different friends from Milwaukee who are Asian. Their happiness isn't any more or less than anyone else's.
Asians are welcome just like anyone else in Milwaukee. Milwaukee could use more of them. Milwaukee is mostly white and black and also a sizeable 13% or so amount Hispanic, mainly Mexican.(You'll see a sprinkling of Asians in all parts of the city and burbs, just not a lot of them, to anyone who has lived anywhere where there are higher populations of Asians,... and you 'll see more younger versions of them near the schools you mentioned). This isn't Fremont California where more than a third of the population is Asian. There are some other more rural and small town/cities parts of the state that have some Hmong populations. Chicago 1 hour South doesn't have a large percentage of Asians in their population, however, because of the larger population size, they would have more in sheer number. To name just one example Devon Street Corridor is very South Asian there...and so on.
There are no Asian racial tensions in Milwaukee. Racial tension in Milwaukee is black and white and WAY overblown.
All of your other questions have been asked and answered many times, and you can do a simple search of them.
Marquette is a very good University and UWM is a good school as well.
What's wrong with the city is Winter and Spring Weather for some. What's right is Lake Michigan, "The East Side" "The Third Ward" "Brewers Hill" "Riverwalk"and other parts and things of the city, the compact size and not sprawl layout, the festivals, summer.

Even in 2007, show me a city that doesn't have at least some racial tension between black and white people, and you'll show me the first, even in Roman's SF...which I frequent.

Thank you, but since you're not Asian, your comments here belong in another thread.
Asians may be welcome, but I'd like to read their perspective on whether this is true, and which parts of the city are not accepting.
I'd like to know why more Asians don't target Milwaukee as their home. You can't speak to this.
If the city is not accustomed to Asians, you can bet that there is racial tension towards them. Again, you can't speak to this.
You say racial tensions are overblown, but that really depends on one's perspective, doesn't it?

Well the topic here is about the Asian perspective of Milwaukee, not racial tensions around America. You're not Asian, so take your comments to another topic.

The guy tries to help you and you reply like this? I suspect you'll have a hard time in Milwaukee, though not because you're asian. Because of the chip on your shoulder.

A "chip"? Hardly. Able to effectively express myself? Absolutely.
The topic of the thread was attempting to facilitate discussions from Asians not non-Asians who rely on hearsay. Apparently, there are no Asians here who care to respond. I can understand why now.
About me having a hard time in Milwaukee, I lived in Milwaukee for 9 years and know the city very well. I'm not looking to move back, but these topics make for interesting discussion, when responded to by the appropriate people.
Also, I am not Asian.
