I recently accepted a job in Kenosha, but I am planning on living in Milwaukee (looking at the downtown/lower east side/third ward area). Does anyone know about how long the commute is during rush hour?

Where is the job in Kenosha? and what are work starting and ending times? rough estimate 40 mins I travel 10 over at all times just be careful driving through Racine County, it's a 5 mile long speed trap every day. I would say hour during an accident or very bad days but I can make it from 165 in Kenosha to downtown in 30 min the way that I drive

Thanks for the info! The job is around Green Bay Road & 60th. I'm more worried about the morning commute -- start time is around 8am. Ending time could be as early as 5pm, but could be much later too.

It's about 40 minutes to the state line from downtown Milwaukee, driving the speed limit (more or less). Depending on which part of Kenosha, and distance from the interstate, probably 40-50 minutes. If you have to go all the way to the lake... 55 minutes. You can probably shave 5 or more minutes off of this commute by picking up the speed just a bit too. I live on Newberry Blvd between Maryland and Downer, and it takes me 40 minutes to get to the state line, using Lincoln Memorial Drive, the 794, and the 94.

The census say the average Milwaukeean spends around 22min on it's daily commute but I would say 25-35 is more realistic. The morning commute for you shouldn't be bad at all especially now that I94 is getting a much needed upgrade. You do get used to it though at least I do.

I'm glad it sounds very doable -- I had a job before that I was commuting 90 minutes one way (on a good day), so 40-50 minutes sounds like a good deal
