How selective is Brookfield Academy? (2013, middle school, to live)

My husband and I currently live in Brookfield. Next summer, his younger sister (8th grade in 2013) and brother (3rd grade) will be moving from California to live with us. I have heard good things about Brookfield Central High School, but also Brookfield Academy. My questions are:

-Is there enough of a benefit to BA over Central High School, enough to justify the cost?
-I have heard Brookfield Academy is selective - is this true? Is there anything in particular they are selective about? She has almost perfect grades at her previous middle school, but they do not offer a lot of extra curriculars at her current school.
-She is of mixed race (half Indian). Is there a lot of discrimination at this school, or is it normal/on par with the rest of Brookfield?

Public schools in Brookfield are very good

It's a good school and usually thought of as one of the better private schools in the metro area, but I don't think it is THAT much better than the Brookfield public schools. At least not that much better that would justify a 15k tuition payment justifies.

We have had our kids in BA for last few years in the elementary school. I think that Brookfield is a good area and the public schools are great. Brookfield academy has been a nice school for our kids. We really like the small class sizes, individual attention and nice vibe between the students. It is a bit selective but i dont think it is too selective. Academically it is a very nice school with a nice balance of extra activities built in. School has lot of mixed race kids, kids of asian origin etc. so fitting in will not be a big issue. They recently had 10 merit finalists. If the 15 k tuition is not a big issue i would consider it.

I think the kids would be just fine at Brookfield Central. I've heard nothing negative about it. Unless there is a specific reason to look at Private Schools, there really is no need for them.
