Daycare in Waukesha
Anyone know of people that do before/ after school child care in their homes around either the Summit View or Bethesda areas in Waukesha? My kids are at a friends home for now, however I worry about that taking a toll on her, since she also works during the day (just has nicer hours than I do ), and her taking my kids was a "last-minute-right-before-the-school-year-starts" bind that I was in.

Did you find child care? My daughter lives in Waukesha, has a son (first grade) at Lowell. She is expecting second child in June and needs to earn $$. She was a daycare teacher at Kindercare.

I haven't found anything. I was hoping to either keep them at Summit View, or send them to Bethesda, which is our home school attendance area. How close is she to Lowell?

Vernon Presbyterian Church has a childcare. They are right off the freeway in Big Bend. I would recommend them (as my mother-in-law works there and when I lived there I went to Church there).

If you haven't found anything yet, try checking with the Principal at your child's school. My son goes to Lowell and when we were looking into in-home care for him before and after school, Kathy Nelson was a big help. What I liked is that she didn't just recommend anyone; she only recommend people who have kids that go to Lowell and who she knows well and trusts. I would think you would get a similar response at Summt View if you asked

I will agree that Ms. Nelson is a great resource (as is her secretary). So is SV's secretary- unfortunately, the only person she had on her list was the daycare that my kids went to before- which closed just before school started this year. But thank you for the suggestion.

I use to work for BRL, but most of the dc in Waukesha are chain group centers. Anyhoo, my problem was solved- the dc for my younger child moved into the Summit View attendance, and now my older 2 will be there before/after school. Yeah! We just need more quality in-home child cares in Waukesha- especially on the western side of town.
