Do you belong to a local church? If so talk to someone there. There are so many churches out there that want to help people that are in your situation. Even if you can't get help at one church don't be shy about asking the person on the phone if they can recommend a place for you to call.
You could contact the Salvation Army. Here is a contact page. Just put in your zip code and it will direct you to a center in your area. Salvation Army is definitely there to help out!
