HI!!

I am relocating to MKE from MI for my job. I am originally from the MKE area, lived there until I was almost 15. My company is located in West Allis. My husband and I have a little girl 9 and are looking for a school system comparable to the one that she attends now. I would like to be close to West Allis so that I don't have a very long commute. My current commute is only 5 mins from my home. We currently live in a town of about 45,000 people 2 hrs north of Detroit. We have been looking at townhouse rentals in New Berlin & Waukesha. I am looking for any input regarding suburb's that are close to WA. New Berlin seems to have a very nice school district which looks to rate very high. I am good with about a 20 minute commute, but would like to be close enough in case I need to get home to my daughter quickly. I appreciate any and all feedback. We are moving back in the next 2 months. Very excited to get back home and be able to enjoy Kopp's and Mama Mia's on a regular basis

I don't know about schools, but as to your commute, the Zoo interchange is just beginning a massive two year reconstruction, so you might want to try to avoid going through there. It depends on where in West Allis you will be working, I guess.

I think I-94 between downtown and the Zoo will be on the schedule shortly after that is done, too.

Thanks for the information. I will be working off of Hwy 100 right before the zoo interchange. I have heard what a mess that is right now. If I can avoid that I definitely want to do that. We also want to find a suburb where we would eventually buy a new home. We don't want to make another move with our daughter after she gets settled in school.
