I have a question for someone who is knowledgeable about Eisenhower MS/HS, preferably a classroom teacher or someone who has substituted there on a regular basis during this past school year.

1. Do you know if there is a written requirement listed in the packet given each day to substitute teachers that they must ask for additional work responsibilities during the prep time/free time that is listed on the daily schedule that they receive from the office (ie. the daily schedule of the absent teacher)?

2. If it is not written down is it considered an unwritten, but expected responsibility of the sub teacher to ask for more work?

3. If it is an unwritten rule/expectation who is supposed to tell/inform the sub teacher that they need to ask for additional work during the prep time/free time listed on their schedule?

4. Where (or from whom) do the daily sub teachers get this extra work?

As you can probably guess from the questions, a sub. teacher subbed one day at Eisenhower MS/HS and was not informed that she could not take a break during the prep time/ free time listed on the schedule and is now in big trouble.

Of course, this was after she had prepared/reviewed for upcoming lessons, ran off needed worksheets for the rest of the day, corrected any thing that needed correcting, and written a note to the teacher about the day so far. After doing all of those things the sub got into trouble for "taking a break" in the empty teachers classroom during the rest of the prep time/free time. Of course, no students were present because it was the teachers prep time/free period.

Can anyone give me some additional information and answer these four questions? Please feel free to Direct Message me if you prefer.
Thank you very much. Unhappy, sub teacher
