I have no ties to either school and thus could care less about the rivalry, but it was a really good game, and MU accomplished something that most teams have not been able to in the Bo Ryan era - they won a game in Madison...MU should have a really good season.

True. Unfortunately the university put a vote to the alumnus concerning the name, then decided to keep it. I voted to go back to "Warriors", but change the symbol. No luck.

Default MU didn't have a "true" team name election

Hello, I'm an alum and I took at least two surveys regarding MU's mascot and team name. The first was looking for suggestions and measuring offensiveness of past and present mascots and/or names. This one was long but easy to take. The second one (and final) I believe, included old names like "Hilltoppers" and "Avalanche," however the (online) survey specifically said write-in entries "Warriors" and "Jumpin' Jesuits," or any variations thereof would be immediately discarded. So much for the voice of the alumni.

Chris, Class of 2004
