Default Cross country ski trails

I've just moved to Milwaukee and already miss cross country skiing. Can anyone tell me if/where there are trails? Groomed? classic vs. skate? Thanks!

Basically you can go to any county park and find places to go but for groomed trails, try Whitnall Park. I believe Curry Park still grooms their trails. The best trails are outside of the city. Lapham Peak is one of the best and another favorite is Glacier Hills County Park out on Friess Lake.

Also, please consider Pike Lake out in Hartford... they have great trails. Many of the Ozaukee Co. Parks are great as well, if you're looking to venture a little ways away from the city.

also most bike paths are used for skiing. I go skijoring on the root river trail. the trails are not professionally groomed at all, but it gets the job done and not every place is friendly about skijoring. also you may want to try golf courses that are by you. a lot of times they have trails.
