I get lost in all these terms of people some times. I always thought that a soccer mom referred to a suburban lady that was sort of short sighted when it came to the real world. But maybe I am wrong and maybe there is a better definition. But is north shore nancy and soccer mom sort of the same type of person.

Soccer Mom is just that, a mom driving 85 kids around with 85 stickers on her back window on a Honda Odyssey driving 5 under the limit.

When I think of "soccer moms" I think of reasonably well-adjusted middle class moms who are outgoing and upbeat, and life revolves around their kids (and dogs). They can be found all over the metro, but mostly in white collar suburbs like Germantown, Menomonee Falls, and New Berlin. A "Northshore Nancy" to me is more upper-middle class (real or wannabe) and usually a bit more severe or restrained in personality. They are found primarily in the North Shore suburbs (surprise!), but variants exist in places like Elm Grove and Tosa. They may have kids, but fewer of them, and their life doesn't revolve around them so much. Northshore Nancys wouldn't be caught dead wearing a Packers shirt or eating at Applebee's, but soccer moms would.

Soccer Mom = lost in space, garbage attention span, can't see outside of her circle

North shore Nancy = above others, makes decisions based on status/appearance

They aren't the same at all.

It's hard to explain if you haven't lived there.
