I live in Oak Creek. It's about 20 mins south of Downtown Milwaukee. Oak Creek is growing into a premier suburb of Milwaukee. It's a combo of small town living with that of a growing metropolis. Oak Creek is nice because the schools are actually pretty good, goods and services are vastly improved over most other suburbs, and crime's still pretty low. It's seen explosive growth and there's more coming. The local govt is good about informing the community with changes.
We're actually looking to put our home up for sale this summer (hopefully) and we've had it appraised at about $260,000. We have, what's considered to be, a large fenced-in yard. I don't think you'll find anything in the $200,000 range without going way far out away from the city (and I mean out in the sticks). We're looking to relocate to North Carolina. You can buy my 2 story 4 bedroom home if interested! Hahahaha. If you want more specific info about the area I can certainly help out. Just send me a private message. Thanks.

Default Great city to live under $200,000

Try Glendale WI, it is a great family town just 10 min north of Milwaukee. It has the best schools, Glenn Hills Middle School and Nicholet High School (where Oprah attened). You are close to the parks and lake.

Hope this helps and welcome to Wisconsin!!
