Well, they do have a choice to commit crimes or not, it's not like we're forcing them to shoot each other, rob stores, steal cars, etc. etc. etc.

Do you look up stats when you run into people out and about? I don't. I deal with specific situations and common sense/street smarts.

I know enough to know it isn't the amount of melanin in someone's skin that makes them criminal, I use other indicators and vibes to effect how I react to situations.

I am not too surprised when people look at me, in fear an suspicion and I'm full bearded, long grey hair, white 6'1" 300 lbs, but I look like a typical bad biker at a glance, especially wearing full leathers , which I do ride a motorcycle, but I don't ride in a group nor do drugs , or alcohol, no tats or rings, or do mischievous stuff.
People that see me for the first time see a stereo type and after a while see that I'm actually a nice guy, "I think"
I give people space and let them figure me out on their own, but I don't make a big deal out of it , that's just begging for trouble.
People choosing to make big issues, are creating an issue on their own.
Some store that refuses to serve is no big deal there are platy of other stores to go to, with out making an issue of it.
Remember the movie "Pretty Woman" that's the way to handle it.

I don't have to look up the stats for Milwaukee while I'm out and about. I know what they are a priori.
