Wow impressed to see MKE working on streetcar! That is the best thing for this city (and light rail too although it looks sleek from pics...). It would be so great to have this from 3rd ward up to downtown and to the north side etc. this will be the way to make MKE competitive (kinda like portland imo). Great to see!

Milwaukee seeks $20 million grant for streetcar extension

Since we're throwing money around like it's nothing why not!

The City of Milwaukee is like that house you see in the hood with broken windows, cracked sidewalks, roof falling apart, old windows that don't open anymore and a 2015 Beamer parked in the driveway.

Well it's a good thing you don't live here, right?

It make no difference where one lives to care about a place especially ones hometown. It is a very common misconception that people who move to the suburbs or live in the suburbs that they don't care or hate Milwaukee and want to see it's demise.

Nothing else tee's us off more than being told to shut up you don't live here, you don't have a say but when it comes to regional cooperation(taxing)you want our money. Virtually all of my neighbors are from Milwaukee and have lived in the city themselves for a long time and recently moved to the burbs.

People move to the suburbs for many different reasons and constantly being called racist and bigot is the reason people move to the burbs is completely outrageous.

I am not against the street car or regional transit at all, right now Milwaukee needs to focus else where than a waste of money like this. Who really truly cares about a city, young professionals who ignore the problems of the city and want a train so they can be seen as living in a cool hip city or someone who want to address the crime, schools and inner city despair.

No wonder Milwaukee's leadership is garbage look who is voting for them and why, you want a cool train or fix pipes and streets and bridges and sewer system. That's not sexy and they can't take cool instagram photo's of themselves standing on the new sewer lines and drain tile. I used to think that people in the suburbs hated Milwaukee too and that the "hate" was one way, but boy have I found out that moving to the suburbs you are public enemy number one to city residents and most of the "hate" actually comes from the city.

Again, Milwaukee's health as a city affects the suburbs and the state as well. It has an affect on everything, it's in the best interest of the suburbs to have a viable city of Milwaukee and vice versa. Pointing out the problems of the city shouldn't be seen as hating on the city. Clearly there are a lot of people in the suburbs that care more about Milwaukee than it's own residents.

That must be why they moved to the burbs? Of course Milwaukee has issues, every major city does, that's not rocket science. However people who live here don't especially appreciate outsiders who only come into the city for a show or game & then leave as fast as they came constantly complain about the city. A city can do many things, even small things you find insignificant or things you feel are a waste of money, to start making it a more attractive city.
