Default concealed carry

What is everyone's opinion on legalized concealed weapons in wisconsin? I think it is a great idea, especially if you are forced to live in a dangerous city like milwaukee.

Ha, ha. I believe in concealed carry for everything larger than assault rifles only. It makes it more dangerous for police when they have to consistently worry about people carrying.

I support it, especially given Milwaukee's spiraling crime rate.

I support it too, I think a person would think twice about robbing someone's house. The criminals seem to all have guns, why not law abiding citizens.

Great! So basically do you still have to get a permit for concealed carry or is it like Vermont (safest state) where you don't need a permit, just buy and carry?

I'm on the fence about concealed carry. I don't want to be close to gun-toting people who don't know what they're doing (unless you use a gun on a regular basis the little training required isn't going to make you proficient). Robbers use the element of surprise. Someone jumps you from behind how are you going to get your gun out? Getting carjacked, now there I can see the benefit of flashing some steel. Robber's coming at you with a knife, also a situation where even a little .25 would come in handy.

For those who say less houses would get robbed, what's your rationale? Concealed carry has nothing to do with whether there's a gun in someone's house. We're a state with many hunters. That doesn't mean people who hunt never have their homes broken into. If I was a thief I'd wait until no one was home and then rob the place. And bonus for me because I'd end up with a gun or two to sell to some other thief/murderer.

I agree, does anyone really think they're going to get one up on someone who's got a gun on you first? I don't think so. I see no reason for people to be walking around w/guns, none.

At least lets give grown up adults that option to chose to carry. You see I've been robbed plenty of times and growing up in the inner-city I have had guns pulled on me point blank. The one time someone pulled a gun on me at 9:30am on the corner of Muskego and Becher St. on a saturday of all days, they pulled the trigger on me and my friend and lucky the gun just went click and then they drove off. I would at least like to have the option to carry and as a former Marine I could possible save your life someday.
