Moving to milwaukee looking for safe neighborhood.
I am looking at an apartment in the riverside area. Is this a safe area. Its east of highway 43. Thank you...

Do you mean Riverwest? It's "ok", there's a thread on it recently.
If you mean riverside, I can only guess that you mean near Riverside High School (?) I personally like that area, and points east. |

yes its located near riverside park. Its also near the Riverwest co-op. I am female and younger so I am jsut looking for as much security as possible.

I'm not the biggest fan of riverwest area, I guess it just depends on the day. Just don't walk around by yourself at night |

Where you're going should be ok, but most points west of there should definitely be avoided.

Like other posters have replied, your area is probably OK, but mainly during the day. I rented around there and went to school at uwm, also have family in that area. I like it but not as a long term place to live, with a family and such. That is kind of a "cool" place to be though. It is recommended that you keep your wits about you at all times, especially at night and on side residential streets. Don't be surprised if at some point your car gets broken into if you park outdoors. It doesn't mean the area is that bad, it just means secure your property, and know that these things happen quite a bit in that area.
