How's Wauwatosa / Mayfair Mall area?
Safe? Nice? It sure is close to everything. And easy access to interstates. I'm looking for a fairly quiet middle class / working class neighborhood in this area. Is this a decent area or should I look more towards the Waukesha direction?

You might then - for "middle class" and "working class" be looking a hare more on the NORTH sides of the area...up towards Currie Park.
Many areas to the south would be described more as middle-to-middle upper class (and even some upper class sprinkled in) and most of these southern areas wouldn't be described at all as "working class".

Very decent. Waukesha is much farther out on the west of the metro, so if you are looking for access, interstates, etc., Wauwatosa is much more your better bet.
This area of 'Tosa would be no less safe than Waukesha, and honestly, would be certainly no lower class than Waukesha, in fact, generally more so.

I agree with everything EnjoyEP said. However, I'm not exactly sure how "quiet" it is. It's by no means like living in downtown Milwaukee, but there is so much in the area. So it will be busy and contain traffic at most times. I think that it would be a good place to live.

Yeah... nice area. Wouldn't mind living around there if I could afford it.
I'm in West Allis near State Fair Park.

Would someone tell me where currie park is? I looked on a map of Milwaukee and didn't find it.

Currie Park is on the southwest corner of Capital Drive (WI Hwy 190) and Mayfair Rd (WI Hwy 100) in Wauwatosa, west of the city of Milwaukee.

Most of Tosa is nice, although I wouldn't want to live on some of the border areas with Milwaukee. Even then, though, it's not like you're in the hood.
The best part of Tosa, IMO, would be north of Bluemound, all the way up toward Burleigh, and west of US45. YMMV.

Yeah, the area like 113 and Burleigh to 124 is really nice. I do a paper route in that area it is so quiet and peaceful. The houses are pricey, but it is worth it for peace of mind. Great area!!!
