All I can say is I agree with the first poster. So far my impression of Mke people isn't great, but not horrible either. If someone gets in your way, bumps you with their cart, etc. "excuse me" is a foreign phrase. But that's how I was raised and some people really do seem shocked when I say that, or if I give a random "hello". However people cannot drive here! What's the deal with going in the middle of the road to turn in front of traffic even though you don't have the right of way? And speed limits do not seem to be a factor. If it says 25, I'm going 30, maybe 35. I have a baby in the car and I'm still working on getting my out of state license so I'm not going to drive like a crazy person.
As for "if you don't like it, leave", that's not an option for most people, as there was a reason they cam here in the first place!

That is interesting, I have had the opposite experience with this. I hear "sorry" or "excuse me" if someone steps in my way....maybe because I look them in the eyes (not in a mean way). Sometimes it is under their breath (embarrassed?), sometimes it is clearer...it all depends on the people.
I do agree that there are many drivers that are too fast/too slow, but I think that is a universal problem on the roads, not just a MKE thing.

Actually, you can buy beer until whenever the store decides to close.

Really? I had heard otherwise. Wow, that's nice. Here you have to race to the corner OP & come running in w/1 minute to spare...believe me, they've got cameras in the store, the clerks will get fired if the managers catch them on camera selling even a minute after 9. To the person that responded about my "if you don't like it, then leave" comment...I apologize for that comment. I actually hate it when people say that about either people living in our state or the U.S. in general, apparently I got caught up in my own pissiness over the guy who I was responding to. Usually, I do not say that.
