Default Moving to Milwaukee, safe neighborhood

I am moving to Milwaukee, probably in the St Joseph/ Sunset Heights neighborhood on N. 57th at Burleigh. I am caucasion and have heard the area is pretty segregated, but is it safe? It is in an area with mostly home owners. I would love to be in a culturaly diverse location but also want to feel safe in my home.

I live right in that neighborhood. It's fine. No major safety concerns.

Westside sherman park is very nice but just like the east side of Milwaukee the crime isn't from people in you area it's from people that live close or travel to your area. I would stay away from the east of 43rd street. I would buy a house here actually I'm strongly considering it due to the fact that there is a lot of Jewish people in sherman park, and the homes are beautiful as well. I wound'nt discourage looking in Sherman Park as a lifelong resident from the southside of Milwaukee(22nd n Grant). I would look from 52-60th street and beyond.
