Question Moving to work in West Allis, what are some nice areas nearby?
From what I have read I don't think I would want to live in W.A. We are looking to rent a house or large apt/townhouse for around $1000/month. I dont know anything about WI much less what are good and bad neighborhoods. Safe, clean, good for families. Any help would be appreciated..since you all have been so helpful thus far <cough>...

West Allis is decent. I grew up there so may be biased but it has good qualities. The area around Greenfield Park is very nice. If you go north of it past Greenfield Avenue is a good pocket with plenty of nearby greenspace.

You can find a lot of nice duplexes and houses to rent in Wauwatosa, only minutes from West Allis.
