Hi, I will be moving there from Michigan. I was wondering, how common is it for people to use WIC? I work, don't get food stamps or free insurance but do get WIC to provide the basic foods for my toddler..anyway I was just wondering if lots of people use it or if it is accepted at most places?

I wouldn't say it is common, but it isn't uncommon either. It just is. There is nothing wrong with using WIC, We were on it 8 years ago when my son was first born.
Do you know where you will be living? You should start looking into the application process now. There are more and more people on it because of the economy, so anything you can do or get ready before you move here will be helpful.

The food stamp program is now distributed via Quest cards which are used like a debit. Most major grocery stores accept them. There was just an article last week on OnMilwaukee.com that discussed the food assistance program in Wisconsin. If you go to the wedsite, you might be able to find the article.
