When I saw this thread, two things popped into my head - 1) the opening sequence and theme song to Laverne and Shirley, and 2) the scene in Wayne's World where Alice Cooper was explaining the origin of the word Milwaukee to Wayne and Garth.

Pete: Hey, isn't "Milwaukee" an Indian name?
Alice Cooper: Yes, Pete, it is. In fact , it's pronounced "mill-e-wah-que" which is Algonquin for "the good land."
Wayne Campbell: I was not aware of that.

Beer. Schlitz beer. The beer that made Milwaukee famous. Look, I drank Schlitz when I was a young man, it was good beer.

Milwaukee is a great city, much overlooked. I would rather live there than Chicago to be honest. It has a great lakefront, decent transit and it is affordable.

Yeah, blue collar, rust belt towns. I think there is a much larger black population in Milwaukee though (something like 40 %).

Yeah Jeffrey Dahmer is from Milwaukee, and that's where is killings were.
As for it's skyline, Milwaukee doesn't really have any skyscrapers (it's tallest building is just under half the size of the Sears Tower).

cold weather and beer. it also seems like one of those cities that still resembles the 80s, maybe early 90s.

Beer, Lake Michigan, Chicago, and cheese, in that order.
