bars and hangout?
Can anyone give me any good ideas?
A good place to me has a mixed crowd.
But, not stupid. like all the Black guys are in there strictly to pick up white girls for the 'experience'. that makes a place sleazy to me.
Good drinks=doubles for less than 6 bucks and pichers of beer for 4$.
And no formal dress code. you can come in after work wear, dressed nice or in sweats.
Oh. And a place with straight good looking men couldn't hurt either.

Being a dad I haven't perused "the nightlife" in awhile, but Taylor's was always a pretty solid place with an eclectic crowd.

You might dig Art Bar, it's on Burleigh in Riverwest. Also Foundation, maybe the Uptowner, all are in Riverwest. Uptowner is a total corner bar, you should find good beer specials there. As for Brady St., Jamo's is good, it'll totally remind you of someone's living room or basement, good times. Thurman's if you're into dirty hippies , those 2 bars are on Arlington. Circa on Franklin Pl., Jo-Cats....well wait, the crowd there is pretty young, even I'm thinking of not going there anymore. However, I used to hang out there alot so if you're curious, check that one out. Halliday's on Farwell, then Zaffiro's is across the street w/probably the best pizza in Milwaukee, plus they have a bar that you can sit at there. It's small & crowded but good food. I strongly suggest you stay away from Water St. & Milwaukee St. bars, you will DEFINITELY get the sleazy black AND white guys looking to just hook up. A bar w/a nicer atmosphere but you can still go in jeans would be Hi-Hat Garage, they recently remodeled, I like the look of it now. However, you won't find drink specials there, at least not that I can think of, but they play good music. Speaking of good music, there's a bar called Yield on Kenilworth off of North, I think it's still there & last time I was there they played good music. Someone else mentioned Y-Not, go to Y-Not II on I believe it's Ogden & Van Buren? If you like to do shots, that's your place. They bring you the mini-bottles so you'll actually get like 2 1/2 shots for the price of one. You sound like fun ladybug, I hope you enjoy the suggestions we've given you!

With the exception of karfar, all the respondents have been men, so that's why you haven't gotten an answer to your last question.
I also thought of the Red Dot on Bartlett, it's pretty chill and they run drink specials like 2 for 1 Captain Morgan's. And the Up & Under Pub on Brady has live music every night.

Oh you'll find good looking straight guys at most of those bars, except maybe The Uptowner . Seriously, I find that the hottest guys live in Riverwest & Brady area, course that's usually where I hang out so I guess I'm a bit biased. And all of those places also don't have dress codes so don't worry about being scrubbed up going in, except for Hi-Hat. I forgot about Red Dot like the above poster mentioned, apparently they have good sliders. Oh yeah, Points East Pub is another one, by Pick n Save. They have the best hot wings around.
