That doesn't make any sense.

Milwaukee needs the rail. I think Milwaukee can learn from places like Japan, South Korea, etc. in that aspect. I see other places doing this stuff such as rail transit. Why not here, and other places?

Yes it is different but in a bad way. I would rather have crime than the errant, misguided puritanism of SLC.

I checked the crime rates for Milwaukee and Salt Lake City. The overall crime rates according to city-data is not that far apart for both cities, but Milwaukee has the higher rate of violence.

DC has a higher rate of violence than Milwaukee and the rail extends to the suburbs in that area. Milwaukee should get the light rail. There is alot of good that can be done. There are plenty of people in Milwaukee without jobs and many of the industrial jobs are in the suburbs. If there was a light rail and it extended out there, people without jobs could go and look for jobs out there. If trains and rail need to be built, jobs can be provided to build them all.

BTW, a driver can get assaulted on a bus too or in his own car, period.
And if more people are working, the less likely the crime rate would be getting high. Milwaukee used to have a lower murder rate before the jobs left the city.

Well for 33$ one way to Madison and 66$ round trip, I'm sure a ton of people will use this train!

Yeah, because the only options are to travel between Milwaukee and Madison... it's not like you could ride from Madison to Chicago, or Madison to Mitchell Int'l.

Wait, those are all options... silly me!

So if you were in Madison and needed to go to the Milw Airport you would take a cab or bus to the Madison airport and then pay $35 dollars to go to the Milw Airport? When you could just fly out of Madison on a connector flight or have someone drop you off at the airport for $20 round trip and still have gas left over.

I will never pay $66 dollars to go to Madison. I go to Chicago a lot and every so often I will pay $44(22 each way). I have done the walk to the Milwaukee train station with luggage and then hop on a bus that takes you to the metra in Kenosha and paid my $5 dollar ticket for my ride all weekend ticket and then I would get off at Union Station and then walk to the El and then pay my $5 for my cta card and then get off and walk to where I had to go.

That got old after the 4th time I did it and from now on I just drive and I can make it to Roosevelt Drive in exactly an hour and not 1.5 or 2 hrs. by train or 6 hrs from the time I leave my house and finally arrive at 12pm
