Default Nanny diaries -- how to find; local resources?

We're new to town, with a baby on the way, a toddler, and a big kid.
Need to find a Nanny/babysitter? live-out.
Any ideas on how to find candidates -- besides Craigslist. Because many of the national services, like FreeNanny.net, don't have Wisconsin candidates.

Have you had success finding a nanny? Know of any local agencies or online services? Maybe College Early Childhood Ed grads or students?

Thanks for any local ideas we might be overlooking.

How much nanny care do you need? If it's part time care, I know a lot of people who go through the universities such as UWM, Marquette, Wisconsin Lutheran, Mount Mary, Alverno, Cardinal Stritch, etc. Or you can check on Craigslist. I'm surprised there aren't nanny agencies around here. I would keep asking people about a nanny agency if you need full time care.

You could join an online community of moms, like raisingthem.com, cafemom.com, or meetup.com. You can get on there and get in touch with other moms who have had a nanny/great babysitter or know of one. I know there is a section specifically for babysitting in my group. It's helped me a lot!
