Jamaican Milwaukee
Now Milwaukee has always been known for it's Eastern European influence however I have discovered a lot of places that serve Jamaican food and along with reggae music. I know Steny's Tavern on South 2nd and National in Walker's Point(5th Ward) avenue have an annual Reggae fest. I have complied a list of places that serve Jamaican food and places that have a Caribbean feel to them. If there is any other places I have left out let me know, even if you know of a bar or restaurant that has a Jamaican night or reggae night feel free to add it to my list.

Now I know we don't have a sizable Jamaican population but it would be nice if we had some reggae bars/clubs in the city. Especially during a winter like the last two, it would be jammin' if we could walk into a nice club with a reggae or Jamaican theme to take our minds off the cold. Maybe for a few hours we could forget we are in Milwaukee and maybe we could convince ourselves that we were in Negril, Jamaica.
Oh I forgot the Jamaican bar on N.30th n' Atkinson called the Jamaican Inn. We need some Jamaican themed bars/clubs, I know my cab drivers would appreciate that. There also used to be a Jamaican bar/restaurant in Wauwatosa but I think they have closed.

I went to Irie Palace a few months ago and liked it; I hope they stay open.
Gaucho Grill is no longer in business.
There are (at least) a couple of Puerto Rican restaurants on the southside--El Farol (1401 W. Washington St.) and Quimera (631 W. National Ave.).
There's a Puerto Rican market close to Riverwest--Pueblo Foods (2116 N. Holton). It has a really good deli/take-out counter.
I've heard that there's a Caribbean market somewhere around the Riverwest area, but I haven't been to it.

Club Havana in Cathedrals Square used to be a fun place to go to but it closed and opened up on South 5th street, has anyone ever been to the new one yet?
