Thanks for the tips from both of you. I actually WILL have to drive over there because the Metro does not run early enough in the day for me. However, it's not going to be an average person's drive. I work one day on and then three days off. Also, I will usually get to work(and leave) at about 430am. So the traffic won't be as bad. Then I plan on taking the Metro for everything other than work. I love using the Metro over there. It is always super clean and goes most places that I would ever need to be. I haven't taken Metro busses yet, but I have taken the Circulator bus to Georgetown and really liked that. The only part that might be a little more difficult is the first 18-20 weeks that I spend at the academy. I will be driving every day of the week at that time. However, I plan to live in DC or Alexandria for awhile. So I won't be too far from work.

I really do love the city. It is easily one of my favorite and is very underrated. Most people that I talk to think it's a dirty crime-ridden city because of its reputation in the 90s. It is extremely clean now with plenty to do. I will definitely miss Milwaukee though. It's my hometown and as I've gotten older, I've learned to appreciate the city even more.

It is funny though that when I go to a place like DC, everyone assumes I'm some expert drinker because I'm from Milwaukee. haha They make me feel like I was born with beer already in my blood.
