winter vs. living near family

We moved away for over 10 years and returned to be with family. There is a small window of your kids growing up and we realized being with the family and taking a break from the bad winter weather to go on a get away worked best for us.

I always noticed Wisconsin people as being extra friendly. There may be some good reasons if people aren't frinedly to certain other people.

You know I used to say we in WI had 3 months of summer but not anymore. June the last 3 years has been cold or cool. I can't even keep my windows open over night, I must admit I live about 2 blocks from the lake and it's also very windy in the 5th Ward aka Walker's Point. Now I can say in WI we have two months of summer: July and August. June is spring and September is fall. I really do wish we had global warming. I feel like I live in SF with all the fog and fog horns going off in Walker's Point and the wind and the cool lake breeze.

Isn't this normal weather when living next to a large body of water?

You know, last October I was telling my wife I felt as if the weather was staying warmer longer into October. My daughters birthday is on Oct 11th and we have had good weather around that date for a few years. We have b-day parties for her and I was in short sleeves for the last 3. I really didn't pay attention to the weather around that date before she was born, so maybe I am imagining things.
