Here is a real reason to leave Milwaukee and Wisconsin
The Wisconsin legislature working in CLOSED DOOR sessions last night approved the "budget" which had other "provisions" attached to it, most prominently changes to the joint and severable liability laws. If you are a business owner, property owner, or in general have any assets that the trial lawyers can go after, when this bill is signed to law in July, you will be a big target. Wisconsin is a high tax, regressive, socialist state. One can say all they want about it being "a great place on a great lake" but the unfortunate truth is that unless you plan on building a career at Walmart or Target, you will probably find few new or expanding businesses in the state. See the link below about the "legal change".

Yeah, but Wisconsin has a government that works--especially compared to the current state I live in. If you hate government so much, I hear Somalia has very limited government.

Wisconsin doesn't know how to do economics and they are the least progressive state in the country!! Too many dumb people here. This "WORK ETHNIC" mentality sucks.

Why on earth do you think WI gov't "works"? Low income , high tax state that churns out average kids despite WEAC propoganda.

What the hell are you talking about? Wisconsin turns out some of the most educated kids in the US. As a matter of fact, nearly all of the most educated states are high tax states. You get what you pay for when it comes to education, just look at Arizona.

No, no it doesn't. The state's government is abysmal in its current state.

Don't know about that. I mean Wisconsin still ranks high in education. The State DOT also complted a $1billion + project ahead of time and under budget recently as well. Not the end all be all, but some evidence of a level of competency that exists in State Government in WI.
As for here in Georgia...major transportation projects--zilch. Rank in education--40th...and we were 50th a few years ago.

I grew up in Wisconsin, lived in Arizona for 15 years, and I've now lived in Illinois for 5 years. Wisconsin is the only one of those that has good government. If you don't like it there, you'd be surprised how bad it can get.
