Milwaukee 9th Best City for Singles.
Now I know it's another Forbes ranking but this yet another forbes ranking that has us high on their list. More and more often we are starting to make these "ranking list" and this is another ranking that puts us near the top for nightlife and singles. So a message to those who think it's hard in Milwaukee to meet new people, try harder or you must be doing something wrong. We have enough events in this city to put yourself in a position to meet new people and it's not the people that makes it hard, its you.

I also have noticed that Milwaukee is popping up on a few singles lists lately, for what they're worth, which in my opinion, aren't much. For example, some cities are better places for single guys to meet single women and vice versa. It seems rare that there's a city that's good for both sexes in that regard in general and therefore these lists tend to be misleading, but that's just my opinion. Still, I'm glad that Milwaukee is receiving some positive recognition on a national scale. That's really all that matters!

Maybe I should give MKE a try. Hopefully, the bookworm/computer types are liked.

OK, does Quad/Graphics do the printing for Forbes or something? It seems like Forbes seems to find Milwaukee quite intriguing. Not that there's anything WRONG with that, but it's just interesting that Milwaukee keeps ranking highly
It might be that Milwaukee and some other large but not HUGE metro areas, are a lot more attractive now that the ex-boom cities are choking.
That aside, I agree that there are a ---- load of opportunities to meet people in this city. If you're bored here, you'd be bored almost anywhere.

There's been so many boom-towns over the last decade or so, such as Seattle, Portland, Phoenix, Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, Boise, Denver, Minneapolis, Charlotte, Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, Miami, Orlando, Austin, Asheville, Raleigh, DC, NOVA, Providence, and Boston just to name a few, that I think Forbes is running out of cities to anoint as the next "it" city. Personally, I like the attention and hope it gets people thinking about investing in Milwaukee. Milwaukee is every bit as good as most of the cities I mentioned. We have a great housing stock, a great park system, great cultural amenities, we were rated as being the #2 "party town" by Maxim, we were rated as being among the best cities for recycling, we were rated as being among the best cities for young professionals, and we have the 5th highest concentration of Fortune 500 companies in the US. Milwaukee has a lot going for it and a lot to be proud of.

In a recent Glamour mag issue, they rated Milwaukee #20 for high number of single guys. I had to laugh at that.

I don't think there are so many single guys. If there were, I'd be dating them.

Milwaukee and Chicago both have a lot more single women than single men. This is a trend that is true for most every major city east of the Mississippi River. Personally, I like the fact that there are so many single women in Milwaukee, especially after living in "Menver" for 5 years.

I live in metro Atlanta. There seems to be alot of single women, and yet I am the one who doesn't have a girlfriend. Oh well, I am not going to settle for just any woman. I want quality and I will wait for it.
