Oh I have no problem w/people who shake things up at all, it's admirable for sure. But to have that same politician become embroiled in scandal & people still support & admire him, that rubs me the wrong way. Eh, what can you do.

It used to bug me, but these days I just say "to each his/her own".

It is one of the drawbacks of being over here. I got really nervous the night that the all-white jury found Frank Jude's attackers not guilty. Luckily, all that happened was a couple of small groups of men knocking over trash cans and stuff. No big arsons that I heard of.
Why is it that they always pick an all white jury when its a minority defendent against white police men? Sounds like someone on the inside is trying to stir things up.

The Forbes list of the safest metro area was posted today. Milwaukee was in 2nd place next to Minneapolis. Not bad for a so called dangerous place.

It is good news, but in the article I read it was our lack of natural disasters that led to the metro area being listed.
We'll also have to see how we do once we finish gutting our protective services.
But this is a list that I don't mind being the tops on.
Quote:
Minneapolis tops our list of America's safest cities, and not just for its crime rate. In ranking the cities on our list, we looked at workplace fatalities, traffic-related deaths and natural disaster risk; the City of Lakes ranked in the top 10 of all four categories. It's also one of America's best places to live cheaply and offers easy access to some of the most scenic drives in the country.
The Milwaukee metro area, buoyed by the lowest natural disaster risk of the cities we considered, ranks second. The Portland, Ore.,metro, which boasts the lowest crime rate, places third. Boston and Seattle are tied for fourth. Both benefit from low traffic fatality rates--Boston's is the lowest on our list, and Seattle's is the eighth-lowest. This is largely because they boast two of the most user-friendly mass transit systems in the country. In addition to being environmentally friendly, these networks provide an alternative to driving while intoxicated.
