I'm a student at UW Waukesha but live close to Marquette because of work. Is there busing from one to the other?

Yes. You can either take the Waukesha Metro Route 9 (Northview) to the Waukesha Transit Center, transfer to Waukesha Metro Route 1 (Waukesha/Brookfield) which you will ride to Brookfield Square. From there you can either grab a Wisconsin Coach Route 901 or Milwaukee County Transit System Route 10 (Humboldt - Wisconsin). You'll be able to ride the 10 with your transfer from Waukesha Metro. Both buses will let you off along Wisconsin Avenue.

The bus runs pretty frequently to MKE from brookfield square too, the only issue I ever had was falling asleep on the 10 because the route is a little lengthy

I wouldn't say it's frequent, at least not compared to the 10 of a few years ago, before the bus route cuts. I came across an old schedule for the 10 (Dated August 27, 2000). The bus used to run every 10 minutes, and was still packed. These days it's more like 20-35 minutes.
BY THE WAY: When traveling from Milwaukee out to Waukesha, be sure to pay attention to the destination signs on the bus. During the weekday peak travel hours, the 10 has alternating destinations. Every second bus turns around at the county grounds.
BUS SIGNS:
10 BLUEMOUND/BROOKFLD SQ - Goes the whole route.
10 WISCONSIN/MEDICAL CTR. - Turns around at the county grounds.
Also: If you decide to take the coach, make sure that you get on the 901. There are three other coach routes that go other places in Waukesha County.

Wisconsin coach line has several routes that run daily and are nice and fast and have few stops and not much time on city streets. They go straight to UWM from 83/94 and Goerke's corners but not sure from hwyT - and also not sure how close they get to Marquette - maybe 4th and St. Paul -
very nice as busses go...you can actually study on the route.

You mean the 901, right?
The 904 is the Milwaukee to Lake Country route. It only goes between Downtown Milwaukee and Waukesha. It also has 'peak-time directional routing' which means that it only goes eastbound in the morning and westbound in the afternoon. In other words, this bus doesn't turn around, it just does one-way trips.
The only WCL buses that go to UWM are the 901 and the Kenosha-Racine-Milwaukee route.
