Also, if it is estimated that 70,000 people moved from Il. to Wi as opposed to the 20.000 from Wi to Il, could the high ratio of Il population to Wi pop. have anything to do with it??

I think many folks from Chicago are stunned when they see the prices of beautiful lakefront condos and such in Milwaukee and so they get a second place here, and do a modified commute. Plus many public schools are actually really good here, and the cost of living is lower.
I think the snide remarks tend to come from Chicagoans who can't believe anyone would prefer living in Milwaukee so they like to denigrate it as just another suburb.
YOu'd think they'd just be happy with their own wonderful city without having to slam ours, but whatev...

What I don't understand is why Kenosha is considered part of Chicago and not Milwaukee. Kenosha is clearly closer to Milwaukee and is in the same state for cryin' out loud.

One giant "yeah but", As soon as you cross the state line you are considered to be in Chicago's suburbs and since it's developed from Kenosha to Winthrop Harbor they consider it a part of Chicagoland. Also you have the metra system that has it's last stop in Kenosha and they also take into effect of how many people that live in the Kenosha area work in IL.

The bigger question I have is why MSA doesn't consider Racine county apart of Milwaukee metro? They do however count it in when you are talking about Milwaukee CSA. To me Racine county is as much a part of Milwaukee as Kenosha is apart of Chicagoland.

I know, but they don't include it in the MSA, which to me is a head scratcher.

You rip my credibility and then post a link to Wikipedia?? Wikipedia is about as reliable as the homeless guy outside your Walker's Point home.

Fine!!! here you go, it's still the same info. Current Lists of Metropolitan and Micropolitan Statistical Areas and Definitions

I point it out b/c wiki is easier to use than any government website out there and when you know the facts and wiki has the same facts what's the difference. I'm not using wiki for a lesson in theology.

At this point I could call you "typical Chicagoan but I won't. Way to represent yourself in a positive light and I'm not the only one here who thinks you are just trolling. Drop it and start contributing.

What's with the Walker's Point homeless guy reference? are you the guy outside my house?
