Looking for a liberal Christian Church
My family is on the lookout for a liberal Christian church to join in the Milwaukee area-- would prefer the Brookfield/Wauwatosa area.
We are looking for a church that has a contemporary service every weekend. Would also prefer the more liberal Christian denominations (Presbyterian, methodist, lutheran-ELCA). Any suggestions? A lot of churches around here don't have websites with this information.
Thanks!

Christianity and Liberalism don't mix.

Look for any presby or methodist congregation on the east side of Milwaukee and/or the north shore. More of an accepting crowd, than, say,
people who feel Jesus just forgot to write that down about hating the libruls being just fine!

My apologies rick - you seemed to be saying liberals couldn't be Christians.
Yes there are such things as liberal Christian congregations - usually they are urban - my methodist church in Waukesha was a good example. Very accepting of gays, divorcees, single moms, and working intensively with society's disenfranchised.
How you vote really wasn't part of it - as it shouldn't be, given the tax exempt status churches enjoy - unlike many congregations in my more rural neck of the woods where many assumptions are made when you walk in the door!

I'm was just telling it like it is. As long as you have a good relationship with God, and follow his doctrine that's all that matters. I' m struggling to go to Church every week, so I'm not the best person to talk.

I am not religious, however through friends I know the Rev. at St. Mark's Episcopal. She's a very down-to-earth and liberal person. I'm pretty sure she has said the congregation leans that way as well. It would be worth a look.
