Hello everyone,

I have a few old tube tv's that I need to get out of the house. I've been told that I could take them to Best Buy, but I would have to pay $25 each. I'm not sure what to do.

Thank you for any suggestions.

Do you have a St Vincent Depaul in your area or any kind of thrift store? They will often come pick up your old appliance for free. Be sure and call first.

Not sure if Milwaukee recycling centers would take old TVs, or want to charge anything for it. But I'd research this option.
Or try to put it on the curb, maybe someone would pick it up?

Check with the town you actually live in. Some of them have free electronic recycling programs.

City of Milwaukee does accept old tvs, if you live in the city. Drop Off Centers

You could also just toss them in the lake or leave them in the woods somewhere.

Just kidding.

Old tube TV's are tricky because most places won't take them for free. I'd be very surprised if any of the thrift stores in the area would even take them at all.

If any of them are relatively "recent" and have a decent picture / hookups, you could try free on Craigslist. Sometimes people who like classic video game systems such as NES and Genesis prefer to play using a tube TV.

The curb suggestion for free is a decent one, but if they get rained on then likely recycling would be the only viable option.

The City of Milwaukee Recycling Center is a very good suggestion (if you live in the city), but they limit you to a maximum of 3 TV's. Not sure how they'd keep track if you want to bring back more on another trip. You didn't say how many "a few" is.

The last time I took a few tube TVs to Best Buy it was free. But they cannot be larger than 27".
