I have always understood Bay View to end at Becher Street on the North, and Walker's Point to end at Greenfield Ave on the South. So what is the area between them called? There's some great bars and restaurants in the area...

Well if you pay attention to the news media you will notice that the horny goat pub advertises as being in Walker's Point. The Pump House used to be at the same location on South 1st and advertised as being Bay View's most northern bar. The truth is that technically Walker's Point starts at Greenfield Ave and BayView ends at the KK river. The Area between the KK river is known as Clock Tower Acres but most people today just call anything north of the river Walker's Point IE Transfer Pizzeria advertising as being in Walker's Point. Clock Tower Acres has basically gone by the way side b/c everyone just refers to it as Walker's Point.

The clock tower went up in the 60s, so I assume the name isn't that old. Bay View and Walker's Point are anchored firmly in the 1800s. (No clue exactly when...)

So what was it way way back? Everyone there seems to think they're in Walker's Point...

Well historically they are technically they are not but all that is just splittin' hairs. Nobody knows that area is called Clock Tower Acres so just like the Fernwood neighborhood that is now swallowed up by BayView so is Clock Tower Acres. It's Walker's Point.

Walker's Point basically follows the lines of the old Fifth ward. South of that was the old Twelfth Ward which extended to Lincoln. Bay View was originally added on as the 17th Ward. Walker's Point originally referred only to the area around South Water and south of the Milwaukee River. It was actually a very small one or two block area.
