Default Commuting from Kenosha to Milwaukee?

Hello, I am a newcomer to this website, and to the Milwaukee area also.

I recently accepted a job in Milwaukee, and will be commuting to work from Kenosha. I was wondering if any of you knew of any transit lines or commuter buses that run from Kenosha to Milwaukee, or even the Racine area to Milwaukee.

Are there any options besides driving every day? Thanks in advance for any help.

I'm assuming that you're working in Downtown Milwaukee. WI Coach Lines has a service between the cities, here's their website:

I've taken that WI Coach bus a few times and I won't sugar coat: it can be quite ghetto. But I haven't tried it during commuter hours. They offer a couple morning and late afternoon runs which link up with Metra rail, for Milw-to-Chicago commuters. My advice would be to stick to those runs like glue.

A somewhat more expensive option is WI Coach's OHare express (limited stops/ takes the freeway). It stops at Kenosha (at freeway and 75th) at a restaurant. There's a City of Kenosha transit bus (the 31) which picks up very close to there (you need to walk a short distance to it, under the freeway). That'll get you as far as southport plaza (75th and Green Bay rd), from which you can transfer to several other buses going in all directions, depending where you need to go. Route 30 is probably the best choice to get direct to downtown, as the 30 and 31 schedules are linked-up (one bus waits for the other). Info: City of Kenosha, Wisconsin : CITY DEPARTMENTS : TRANSPORTATION

Amazingly, there is no convenient way to get from the Amtrak Sturtevant station to Kenosha, so put that idea out of your mind. (City of Racine offers a bus to/from Amtrak, but that won't get you to Kenosha.. the Racine and Kenosha systems do not link up, period.)

ETA:
one correction to what I said: you do NOT need to walk under the freeway (to get from the Ohare express dropoff in Kenosha, to the local bus). I think both systems pickup/dropoff at the same point (the Brat Stop), but it's been so long that I can't remember exactly, so don't quote me. Regardless, the two drop points won't be far apart (on 122nd st), if at all.
