Ya it is annoying, one time we were meeting my older cousin from Minneapolis in Buffalo because I was going to spend the weekend with him and he got stuck behind someone going well under the speed limit and it took him quite a while to get to Buffalo. My sister usually when she wants to go to the mall or something she chooses to go to St. Cloud instead of going to Ridgedale because of it. According to mapquest its pretty much the same distance from Buffalo to Crossroads mall in st cloud then it is from Buffalo to Ridgedale mall.
Back when I had braces my orthodontist was off 494 and I had to go down there around once a month and we usually left really early just in case we would get stuck behind someone on 55 between Buffalo and Plymouth.

It was an excellent weekend to go camping.

It was still better than trying to get home on 94 on a Sunday in the summer though. There really wasn't much traffic at all-we got on 55 in Paynesville and didn't have much traffic, just got stuck behind some slow drivers--but still not as bad as the bumper to bumper on 94. Something was backing up 494 in Eden Prairie all the way past 35W--we got off at Penn to take American Blvd. It took 30 minutes to go from about Valley View Rd to Penn Ave.

Ya going on 55 is better then going bumper to bumper on 94, it just stinks when you get behind a slow person and sometimes it can slow you down a little bit.

If you got on 55 in Paynesville then you probably went through Annandale. I loved growing up there and should try to go back down there sometime.

Victoria is also a nice community...lots of lakes, fairly affordable housing, small downtown shopping area and close to Eden Prairie.
