Default Highway expansions and Chaska on Money mag top place to live list

I was reviewing the Money magzine top places to live list and saw Chaska on the list. The article mentioned highway expansions around Chaska and I guess around Minneapolis in general.

Are they adding roads or adding lanes? Where are they adding? (One addition was 312? Where will that go?)

I am not sure which area's around Chaska they are talking about, 169? Chaska is a great town, we were just there the other day. Apple Valley was also in the top 100 (28th or something like that). One thing I know for sure is that the home prices in Chaska are going to climb now. I remember when Sioux Falls, SD was #1 in 1992 or so. The housing prices about doubled after they got that ranking as do most of the towns that show up on that list--then they price themselves right off the list .

The 'new' highway referred to in the Money article is a new re-routing of current Highway 212 from Eden Prairie to Chaska. The new section of Highway 212 is currently called Highway 312 and I do not know what the old Highway 212 will be called. Depending on the direction of your commute, the new Highway 212 segment will likely help you get to Eden Prairie faster, but you will still need to use Interstate 494, Highway 62, or Highway 169 to get out of Eden Prairie, which are the main sources of congestion in the area.

Here is more information on Highway 212 construction: HWY 212 Project Home - Minnesota Dept. of Transportation.
