My stance on this kind of thing is what if the police men and the criminal started shooting at eachother and you or somebody you loved was struck by a stray bullet? You can get lucky forever and never get hurt but sometimes it only takes one bad thing to ruin everything. I don't want to mess around with people who shoot guns and I don't want to be anywhere near them. Here's another suggestion: live in a high-rise where it's less likely somebody can break into your apartment or get hit by a stray bullet.

Stevens Square was rough in the 90s but it is not that bad of a neighborhood anymore. It is not a suburban cul de sac but it is probably quieter than the place you were living in in Savannah. I wouldn't think twice about living there. Parking can be an issue though.

My stance on this kind of thing is what if the earth turns on its axis and you or somebody you loved was struck by a stray meterorite? It's possible, especially if you live in town... uh huh.

Look at the statistics. Don't be hornswoggled by people trying to frighten you.

Yeah! Listen to fear mongering expats and you can REALLY live life - hiding under your covers. Right, MCC?

Stevens Square is fine with me. I'd skip 1828 Park though. It's a crappy building anyway, plus, Park is one of the busiest one way streets in the city.

It kind of does look nice in those pics....but it's really not that great. Let's just say that the area (Phillips) is maybe top 5 worst in the Twin Cities (Near North, E. St. Paul, Frogtown, Hawthorne, Jordan). That may still be better than anything in Savannah, GA though....

I just hope that place is still there in March 1st when I come to apartment hunt. Its such a good price that I have to at least take a look at it. Im willing to go up to 850 a month with heat included, but If i could snag something for under 700, thats still near uptown and downtown, then I would be one happy new Minneapolis resident.
