Does anyone have any specific ideas as to where I can go running in MPLS? I am an avid distance runner, and would love to run on some natury trails, paved or gravel- in the MPLS area. Any ideas where to start?!??!?
use to live near the Ford Bridge in S Mpls and would do the loop up W River Parkway, cross the Marshall Ave Bridge come down the St Paul side and back across the Ford Bridge. pretty uncrowded and no intersection the entire route, maybe 4 or 5 miles. Nakomis/Lake Hiawatha was also a nice run but involved a couple of intersections.

I was just going to mention that to! Along the river. Try going on one of the bike trails like the Greenway by Abbot and the lakes in S Mpls., that can take you all the way out to Excelsior and beyond, but that would be one heck of a long run.

Driving around the lakes bumping the radio.
Hanging out on the porch on those warm summer nights.
Playing BBall with my friends.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Twins' games yet. I'm personally not much of a baseball fan, but most of my friends can't seem to get enough.

have you been?
I know you said you're not a big baseball fan, but last year i brought a handful of my friends who didn't care about baseball and they had a blast- definitely not something they;d do every week but fun for the summer for one game or so

Do any of you go to St. Paul Saints games or other minor-leage/semi-pro type stuff? I really enjoy the small-stadium intimacy (and reduced price point!) of the minor league games where I live now.

Saints games are always fun. They get a little crazy, but you're right, that minor league atmosphere is great!

1. Biking with friends or family--typically around the city lakes/Grand Rounds, or out on the Wayzata-St Bonnie trail along Lake Minnetonka
2. Spending a Saturday morning on the Riverfront, going to the Mill District Farmers Market (across from the Guthrie) and then walking a loop over the Stone Arch Bridge, up Main Street and back to downtown
3. Watching baseball games--either my kids games or the Twins at Target Field
