Default Best Places to Rollerblade

Just got some rollerblades and I need some places to use them. So far, I've done River Parkway in Saint Paul and Lake Calhoun/Lake of the Isles. Anywhere else with nice pavement and less people is welcome!

We have 100's of miles of bike/walking/rollerblading paths around our house if you don't mind heading toward the suburbs.

We are in Rosemount but the same goes for Apple Valley and Eagan as well. Eagan is pretty hilly so it depends on how much of a workout you want. The area around the MN Zoo would be great for rollerblading too.

I think four really good trails are Baker Park, Elm Creek Park, Dakota Rail Trail, and Lake Rebecca.

Baker is a mildly hilly 10k loop. There is a connector that takes you all the way to Crow Hassan. Only one sketchy road crossing which is about a mile N of Baker park. Coming from the North you go downhill across a bridge and straight across a residential road which serves I think a couple houses.

Lake Rebecca is also a 10k loop. Less hilly than Baker. Fresh pavement two years ago.

Both Baker and Lake Rebecca have only porta potties.

Elm Creek is awesome. North loop is ten miles, smaller south loop is six miles. The six mile loop going counterclockwise has what I think is the most challenging uphill in the Three Rivers trail system. It's short though. You can use the bathrooms at the swimming area or the chalet.

Dakota rail trail is nice and flat. It starts in Wayzata and goes through Mound all the way to St. Bonifacius. If you plan on stopping to eat at St. Boni you need to get there before 2pm or the restaurant at the end of the trail closes.

Let's see, what else? There's lots of urban stuff besides the commuter trails mentioned above. A lot of it is trail/sidewalk combo which is not what I like. Too many road crossings.
