Best beer in the Twin Cities?
I'm a big IPA fan and was wondering where to get the best, really hoppy IPA in the Twin Cities...and I also like stouts, porters, and bitters. Any and all suggestions appreciated -- I'm considering a relocation there, and would feel much better knowing that good beer awaits me.
(yes, I've been spoiled by the excellent beer in the PacNW)

Summit is the main micro brew here. They have both an IPA and a Pale.
Rush River is better, in my opinion, but I've only seen it at the Bulldog even though I know a few other bars carry it (the owner of the Bulldog is part owner of Rush River).
James Page may or may not make a pale, as I can only remember seeing lager offered by these guys. Come to think of it, it has been awhile since I seen James Page anywhere.
As far as I know, all of the other (micro)brewers do styles of lagers.
Aside from that, if you go to the right bar (or liquor store) you can find just about any beer that you want-even gluten free.

My Father-in-law's basement! He has been doing homebrewing for many years. I am told it is very good, I don't like beer so I am not a good judge.

Wanderlust--I agree about Summit IPA. But their EPA is even better, be sure to give it a try. Also, a new local microbrewery is Surly. I've heard good things about it, but haven't tried it yet.
James Page is still around, K-luv. It's actually brewed under contract by the Point Brewery in Stevens Point, WI, though.

I forgot about the EPA! I always thought that Surly was local but I couldn't be surely on that one.

Surly is good, although they have possibly the worst logo on the planet.

Probably Summit Grand in the TC anyway. I don't care for it, but I like a hoppy taste to me beer.

Best beer i've had is at Black Forest german restaurant. They also serve samples of 4, so you can later decide which one you like most.
I have not been dissapointed with their beer once!

Black Forest does have good beer, but I am not really a fan of pilsners. The James Page Voyager was a favorite of mine awhile back, but Samual Adams Boston Lager is probably my favorite US lager that I have tried so far.
