Someone told me that the Minneapolis skyline is visible from Buffalo.. someone please verify or negate this because I'm really skeptical.

I doubt it. Since the skyline is an east-west skyline, the best views are from the north or south. It is difficult to see from east and west/ case and point 494 from Plymouth. It looks tiny even tho it's only a few miles out. Even from Theodore Wirth it looks smaller than normal. I know you can see it from a residential neighborhood in St Michael on a clear day. But mainly at night. I wouldn't rule out Buffalo, maybe on a hill or top of a building at night, Maaaybe

You can see it in northern Blaine, from University Ave. That's about a 25-30 min drive. Anything further north and there's too many trees in the way.

I see it in my living room, San Antonio TX. Nice photo, see the spoon and the cherry too.

Default Farthest I've seen Minneapolis 22.5 miles away in Afton. Anyone know of any place farther then this?

Farthest I've seen Minneapolis buildings upon the horizon is in Afton, MN on 95 (manning) just north of 70th Street. Anyone know of anyplace farther than this that the IDS, Wells Fargo, and Capella Tower can be seen?

The other way to look at this problem is how far away is the horizon from the top of the tallest building. The IDS Center is 792 feet tall and from that height the horizon is 34.5 miles away.
Distance to the Horizon Calculator
It is 32 miles from Buffalo to the IDS so it is possible someone saw the top of the three tallest buildings but they would not be able to see the skyline unless, as someone suggested, they were on a hill or building.

You can see the tops of the tallest towers from the corn and bean fields just west of Chaska. That's the furthest that I have been from Downtown and saw the skyline.

It not the furthest, but I always liked the view from Ruth Street bridge going over 94 in St. Paul.

This view doesn't do it justice, because you can't see Minneapolis all that well in it, but you can see both skylines.

It puts into perspective how much taller Minneapolis' skyline is. St. Paul being nestled in a valley doesn't help very much.

From the top floor of the main 3M building. I wish I would have taken a picture.

Yeah, when you're coming in for a landing at MSP.
