Hey guys,

We "rounded-up" our lawn (mostly weeds) last Fall and killed everything off. I'd like to get our grass replanted and was just wondering if it is the right time to do it yet. I don't want to waste any seed if its too early, but also want to get it going as soon in the season as possible so we can overseed a few times in the summer. Any thoughts?

Was reading that even though the snow is gone, the ground is not yet fully thawed and if you work the soil too early it can compress the air out of the soil. Suggestion was wait 1-2 more weeks until the ground is fully thawed.

Yes, it is too early. First, we could still get blasted with some snow, second, the ground is frozen. Our lawn guy said to stay off the grass for a couple more weeks because walking around on it now just compacts the soil and that is not good. I'm sure it is tempting but generally here I would wait until mid-May, maybe late April, before planting grass (or anything really).
