With those commutes I would say Mounds View School district or the Mahtomedi School District would be your best choices. Both rank in the top of the state year after year but all standards, quality of courses offered, ACT/SAT scores, state testing scores, general overall satisfaction from families, etc. Those areas are very safe and great communities. Mahtomedi is a smaller school for a metro school-about 250-300 kids/grade. Irondale High School in the Mounds View district is about the same size. Coming from a smaller town that might be a good option.
