I just moved to Woodbury and am in desperate need of a haircut. I had to cancel the appointment I had just before moving due to getting ready to move. I am a curly haired female and it is not always easy to find someone who knows how to cut curly hair. It does not have to be a place right in Woodbury, I am willing to drive to the right person as long as it's not unreasonably far.

I would appreciate any and all suggestions.

Thanks!

Wow, I didn't know cutting curly hair was a specialty. I always get my hair cut at beauty schools, they are cheaper and there is usual an advanced instructor overseeing. Sounds perfect being you have a specialty hair type. If your lucky the instructor will have her pupils gather round while she demonstrates all the advanced techniques on you.

Or if you are not lucky, Susie Shoulda-Studied will use your hair to demonstrate why she'll be failing out of school next month.

I have about the easiest possible hair to cut, and yet I've had stylist-school students mess it up. But it was cheap, so I didn't really care.

I'm not real keen on the beauty school route. I'm not looking for the cheapest place. I'm looking for a quality place.

I really like Cloud 9 Salon in Eagan. That is not too far from Woodbury, just of 494 and 35E bascially. I see Hope there but they are all good. What I really like is most of the stylists are NOT 22 years old, most are older or the same age as I am. . As for specifically cutting curly hair, a few of the stylists have very curly hair so they would probably be good people to start with. I don't know their names though but if you call in and ask the receptionist would know.

Try Juut in Roseville (I love Johanna) or any of the Ficocello salons. They are all trained REALLY well. (I'm a curly haired girl myself...very picky about my stylist.)

If you don't have luck with any of those places there are two Ouidad certified salons in MN. One is in Burnsville and one in Excelsior. You can look up Ouidad and search for certified salons in your area to get the exact salon and locations. They are curly hair trained in New York at the Ouidad salon. I have a LOT of tight curl so it works well for me. I went to the one in Excelsior and was very happy. It is expensive and probably not necessary if you don't have extreme curl like myself.
I moved out of state and was able to find another certified salon in my new home and have been happy with that one as well.

Good luck, hope you find a salon that works well for you.
