Apartment near Happening places
I am around 28, single and moving to twin cities. What are the most happening areas for singles, places to hang around, bars, night clubs, strip clubs etc.
Where should one live so that these places are easily accessible?
Any info would be appreciated.

Downtown and Uptown for sure. Saint Paul is pretty dead, IMO. Northeast is convenient to thing, but not as much nightlife, more neighborhoody. Also, check out the Warehouse Dist. and the West Bank.

Have you ever been to the downtown St. Paul bars? I've never gone down there and not had a good time. Alary's, McGoverns, Liffey, Tom Reids, the list goes on.

Uptown in MPLS for sure, my friend who is very social just loves living there. Good food, shops and walk to lakes where there's always interesting people hanging out

Ive lived in Uptown for most of my adult life. There is good and bad. good: close to bars and restaurants, shopping, bad: VERY expensive, and parking is a nightmare unless you are lucky enough to find that rare rental with off street parking.

I appreciate all the replies. Thank you guys!!
I think either downtown mpls or uptown would be good choices.
Could anyone suggest decent apartments in these areas?

yes, if you look at a map, most nightlife in uptown originates at lake and hennepin, downtown it's 1st ave and 4th st. If you have a car and are willing to pay for parking, downtown is probably better. you have access to all major freeways within a few blocks, and you will be able to keep your car in a ramp and not worry about it getting snowed and towed in the winter. uptown is a pain to get in and out of, as freeway access is kinda distant and choked with traffic during the day. also, alot of nice places going in on the other side of the river from downtown, very nice area and still walkable to bars and restaurants on 1st ave and downtown.

as far as nice apartments, it depends on your price and if you mean apartment as in rental. strictly rental places to check out downtown would be the churchill, marquette place (not sure if that's exact), and pretty much any place in the warehouse district. Stone arch apartments are pretty nice too, although a bit overpriced and kind of a college scene. some of the nicest condo places that would have rentals available would be the carlyle, grant park, and riverwest. uptown is a little more trickey, you kind of just have to go walk or drive around and see what looks good to you. One larger establishment would be be uptown city apartments. If money is not an issue there is the calhoun beach club and some adjacent towers of unknown names.

Uptown-
Lots of good deals to be had in Uptown - a lot of apartments are posted on Craig's List, otherwise, if you're able to come to Mpls and look around yourself, many apartments are advertised in windows / yard signs and you can find great deals that way. My fiancee lived in an Uptown apartment that had great management - they were called (trying to remember) "Gremar Colonial" I believe, they own a lot of apt buildings and homes divided up into apts in Uptown and the property managers are great.
