The East side is not a good area to live in, I would never live in that area..... Maplewood is not to far from the east side.... I would never live in Mineeapolis though so i guess i woudl rather live on the East Side. To me the East Side is dirty and Ghetto. Alot of shooting and it seems like no body cares about there neighboor hood. I grew up on the West Side but my boyfriend grew up on the East so i spent alot of time over there. I would say like at other Areas to buy a house... Look into Maplwood, West st paul, Inver Grove Heights, anything but the East Side.

I have lived on the east side of St Paul my entire life and I have never seen or heard anyone get shot. I walk home at night from local bars and I feel totally safe. My neighbors as well as myself take very good care of our properties, lawns cut, no trash laying around, sidewalks shoveled, and that also goes for the few vacant homes near me. The neighbors take care of each other. That being said I am in a "nicer part" of the east side. If you were to just drive around it a little bit over on side streets etc, you would understand exactly what I am saying. So I will have to disagree with Chicarosa.
Feel free to message me on here if you have additional questions. I know St Paul VERY WELL!
